Do you need planning permission for a basement in Wyre Forest?
Basement excavation rarely has a permitted development route: lightwells visible from the street, engineering works and structural alterations push most schemes to a full application, and several boroughs remove any PD route with an Article 4 direction. In Wyre Forest this matters: the borough has 17 conservation areas, and inside those the permitted development route narrows or is removed, so a basement can need a full application where it would not two streets away.
